WE ARE EXPERTS At SCHEELS, we have a team of customer service experts passionate about the products within their department. We are dedicated to having the best retail experience in the eyes and minds of our customers where everyone can discover their passion for sports, hunting, fishing, camping and much more. Making a difference one smile at a time SCHEELS cares about our community. Each of our stores operates in a special and unique community, and we make it our mission to be an active member of each of those communities through outreach and volunteerism. We take pride in being able to improve the lives of others. That's why we donate our time, energy, and resources to building up and supporting the members and organizations in our community. Our associates are passionate about this shared commitment and volunteer thousands of hours annually. Last year, 494 SCHEELS associates volunteered for a total of 3,285 hours. They make a difference every day by getting involved in everything from United Way campaigns to community service organizations and local sports teams. WAYS WE CARE Athletics SCHEELS understands the importance of health in both mind and body. We recognize that participating in sports programs offers benefits and lessons that carry over to all aspects of life. SCHEELS supports all types of athletics by sponsoring various athletic programs across our communities for youth, high school, and college-age athletes. This commitment to maintaining excellence, organization, and availability of athletic programs has brought communities together and developed a sports experience participants will translate into their lives through everyday values and a sense of teamwork. Education SCHEELS realizes that education is not only important to the future of our youth and young adults, but also to the future of our communities. One method of supporting education is by helping students explore learning outside the classroom. Our stores proudly host field trips and other learning opportunities for area schools. Students enjoy learning by participating in the "Walk of Presidents" as well as seeing the animals throughout the store. We believe hands-on learning offers a memorable experience and allows students to achieve a better understanding of the topic. Conservation Our SCHEELS associates and in-store experts are dedicated to teaching and building awareness related to conservation. SCHEELS provides opportunities to learn about the outdoors with programs like The Refuge Garden Project, youth fishing outings, and hunters’ safety classes. We volunteer our time because we see the benefits of education within our communities, and we want to instill knowledge and skills that are needed for safety and fun outdoors. Through events, programs, and external partnerships, SCHEELS encourages outdoor passions for people of all ages. Social Services and Health SCHEELS understands the hardships that certain medical conditions bring and values time and effort put in to medical research. That is why we participate in bake sales, silent auctions, in-store promotions, and events to raise money for research and funding. From Breast Cancer to Cerebral Palsy, SCHEELS gladly donates resources to cover medical expenses, fund research, and find a cure. Our quiet involvement in these causes has made an impact on people within many communities. Donations SCHEELS knows the value of giving back to causes and organizations that support our communities. That’s why we donate between 8 and 10% of our profits annually to organizations in our local communities and ask that they use the money wisely to create lasting change. Donations and sponsorships are allocated on a store-by-store basis, allowing each store to choose which organizations and events to support in their community.
